Number of games necessary to get approx PR

Teland How many games would you deem necessary to get a decent approximation of your PR against XG

As Jason says this is difficult to answer. PR on single game varies a whole lot. however for a 5-6 PR like me my guestimate is

  • 100 games : +/- 1.6 PR
  • 250 games : +/- 1.0 PR
  • 1000 games : +/- 0.5 PR

    This is based on STDEV of 8.16 for my unlimited games (4000 games, overall PR of 5.5)

    Stronger players should have much less variation and I guess for a 2-3 PR player the number above are about twice less (0.8 PR for 100 games)

    For matches, a good rule of thumb is that a N point match usually takes N games. So 20 5-point match should be equivalent to 100 games
