Hard to say. Of course also very dependent on how many people take part in the betting. If the pool is small, value will be terrible for the worst players even if you're the only one betting on them.

My guess would be that the best value would be in players that are not world class ("name players") but still play well enough to only be pretty small dogs against the top guys. Like a 5 or so.
