If we always obey the laws then we pretty much cannot have any backgammon tournaments anywhere in the U.S. and offer prize money in the format we have. Many states and municipalities have terrible, archaic laws. Our entire country does not allow any gambling on line and doesn't recognize backgammon as a skill game. Every time we play in a chouette we are breaking the law.

If you lived in a country that didn't allow you to practice your religion, or any other practice you believed was worthwhile, or enjoyable, or important, so long as it doesn't hurt anyone and you are not cheating anyone, I, and I believe most of us, believe you would be right to break such repressive and unfair laws.
