And if the hedge does take place is there any guarantee that it will be honoured? Does it have any legal basis? Could one of them possibly have misunderstood the terms of the hedge? If I hedge with one person but not with another could offense be construed? I have certainly heard of a case where the declination of an EVEN money hedge resulted in an unpleasant scene, and it could also suggest that we trust some players but not others.

I'm not much of a fan of hedging, I can take it or leave it. Best thing I've used it for is gaining acquiescence in opponent using a baffle box.

Paying out just 2 in 128 is potentially brutal, and could greatly magnify bad feelings when opponent rolls crucial hitting number after a doubtful shake/roll.
