The only way anyone has an advantage in any chouette, whether in the box or not, is if they know how to play backgammon, and particularly chouette backgammon, better than the rest of the players in the chouette. Players who take the cube to keep the box, even when they are better backgammon players, are proving they are worse chouette players, and players who drop cubes to avoid the box are just as bad. A lot of money is lost by "good" players who take for the box.
