My example was, as you say, clear but infrequent. My first goal was to establish that there certainly do exist situations where it may be right to act suboptimal on a cube decision to keep the overall advantage of the box. I'm in agreement with Jake that many situations exist where this could be the case but one must be careful to take all the factors into account.

I believe Steve Sax or Joe Russell would also be able to weigh in heavily here if they happen to catch the thread. I don't have the drive to come up with more examples because it feels like it would take a lot of work to define the players, the situation, the rules, etc...
