My point in making it 20k is to show just how confident I am that you are entirely wrong. Upon reflection, I think my list is closer to 40 players.

I would say there are 2 primary factors for top players in tournament finals. One is fatigue. It can be quite exhausting to play that many long matches over a weekend. The negative effect this has on PR is somewhat offset by an increase in concentration and effort, due to the extra scrutiny and reward for winning.

I suspect the net effect is a slight increase in expected PR. But setting the bar at 5.0 is ridiculously high.
