Counting rebuys as a new entry has its flaws too. Part of the original entry often includes a second chance, a consolation, and a last chance. It is possible to earn ABT points from all of these events. I would assume about 1/2 to 1/3 of the points awarded at an ABT tournament come from these events. A player that rebuys forfeits his first chance at these events. So, he is really getting something like 1 1/2 or 1 2/3 the chances of earning points of someone that enters once. In addition, he usually forfeits any chance at first round bye, which should also be calculated, if you want accuracy. I think counting a rebuy as 1/2 an additional entry is probably close to the right number, if you are going to count rebuys as an additional entry or portion of one.
