Ken’s rating proposal - Rebuy formula changed, ratings reposted

In Response To: Ken’s rating proposal - the problem with rebuys (Ken Larsen)

Barry Silliman lowered the rebuy formula in our ratings algorithm ... from 1.0 down to 0.7 and 0.2 depending on the tournament format. He then re-ran the stats, emailed it to me, and I reposted ( http://home.roadrunner.com/~kenlarsen/bgUSrating.htm ).

Some notable changes were:

Stick's rating increased from 1.882 to 1.942, and he moved up from 11th to 10th.

Simborg's rating increased from .921 to .952, and he moved up from 53rd to 52nd.

Petko's rating increased from .877 to .949, and he moved up from 59th to 53rd.

Everyone who had a rebuy would see their rating go up to some degree.

I thank Barry for his work, and I thank the several of you BGonline posters who made realize the error of treating a rebuy as a full entry.
