"I'm a nobody and I could never tell someone like Paul Magriel (or Phil Simborg for that matter) that I think there's something wrong with his BG manners - at least not face to face :D. Instead, I would learn from him."
This is absolutely wrong, respectfully.
Here is why when you play anyone anything no matter who they "are" "were"or "going to be" thats all fine and dandy but that is meaningless, if they are out of line manage your game and speak up. Part of any game is how well you manage your game, not just play it. why in the world would you let anyone take advantage you you due to (what ever their problem is)?
No matter who I play in what game, BG, pool, darts I manage my game, i make sure the opponent is going to pay me, don't cheat, or do other things that do anything to harm my performance in anyway shape of form. If Phil, Neil(i can say their names cause i know them and know they wouldn't do anything) but if they did, i'd be very diplomatic, nice and straighten out their problem that's effecting me, them or the game.
If willie Mosconi came back from the dead, he gets the same standard of treatment a stone cold beginner gets. I manage my game, not in a way to upset who i'm playing, i hold myself to the same standard.
nobody gets a pass because they are better than me, and I don't take advantage of weaker players, infact if i make a mistake against a weaker player in anything-i point out what i did wrong so they can learn(they might not notice what I did)
thats how I roll.kike Joe Cortez the boxing ref says "I'm fair but im firm", he is well respected. and if you act accordingly you will get the same respect from your peers as you give them. I ignore drunks(not implying anything, just a standard I have in all walks of life)
