It's not even an easy way to Cheat!!

BTW I've just tried an experiment with a friend:

We played 3 games with one change to the rules.

Each time I rolled the dice he rolled his as well so that I knew his roll in advance before I made my move.

He then made his move without any knowledge of my next roll.

We were expecting that I would close out each game within about 10 moves or so but the madness inherent in backgammon remained intact - I was of course able to make some bizaar moves like spreading checkers out as he was not going to hit them, but not nearly as many as we'd imagined. The games were much longer than 10 moves each and I actually only managed to win 1 out of 3 games!! Totally unexpected.

It could even be a new form of backgammon - it was quite fun/hilarious at times.

I don't quite know what to make of it yet - and of course it's only a data set of 3 games - could some of you try this new backgammon variation and report back please? It would give us an understanding of what a ‘soothsayer’ dice cheat would look like.
