Thanks Phil - I'm afraid I can't help you with your plays but I can say that I'm teaching my nephew to play and he prefers the iPad to real dice. We go through the same 'wishing for the perfect dice' before rolling as you do when shaking the dice, we feel the same (muted) excitement when they come up, and he throws the same tantrums when they don't. :-)
