three players A, B and C, where A tends to beat B, B tends to beat C, but C tends to beat A. Do such eternal rating triangles exist in real life?
Not entirely relevant, but these sorts of things are known in chess. Korchnoi constructed a loop like this, which unfortunately I don't entirely remember. I think it was something like this: Korchnoi beats Tal, Tal beats Portisch, Portisch beats ?, ? beats Korchnoi.
