Here's a reason why BG should be touch move

I think that a Touch Move option should be available to players in tournaments; equally, a rule where you can condone illegal plays in a Legal Moves event. I can think of at least one or two other options that players could have a choice on.

Obviously, any alternative arrangements that were available to agreeing players would need to have clearly spelled out rules. And, as has been suggested on this site, a box on the scoresheet to tick/initial/sign by the players.

Give players a little bit more choice on how they want to play the game (for example, faster TC), have it spelled out in the rules and on the scoresheet, and who knows we might atrract a few more players.
