PR vs ER

I've done all DK vs. World on "XGR++ FirstPass Gigantic", including the 2010 DMP sessions mentioned several times in these threads about Stick.
Clearly Stick played the best DMP in 2010, and his level of play was outright impressive. But 2012 (which I still have in memory) saw the same level of performance (or maybe even better) by some players. Maybe it's not comparable, but I'd put Wells' speed performance in 2012 right up there!
XGR++ says: Stick 2010 DMP Avg: 1,5 Trabolt 2012 DMP Avg: 1,6 Kristensen 2012 DMP Avg: 1,17* (best DMP performance yet).
Wells speed gammon 5 pts matches 2012: 2,08
--------
Several people has mentioned or linked to these 2010 matches to make a point about Stick's PR performance. I think this carries some merit in one aspect, but fails on another:
It shows that Stick indeed is capable of producing mind boggling low error rates, in a real life under the gun situation.
It does not show why Stick's error rate should be considerably lower (as it is online) than all other world class players.
---------
I HAVE A THEORY: PR is not just PR, and PR 0.0 is by no means the best play in any given situation, unless you are playing a PR contest. I think we're comparing apples to oranges here, when looking at Stick's online PR and compare it to other players ditto or even live recorded PRs.
First of all, Stick has explained in another thread, that he's online matches are rarely against other giants, and rarely for high stakes against strong players. He plays online as he would play XG, and goes for lowest PR moves all the time.
He doesn't do that "live" - there he "play his opponents", and maximize his match winning chances by adjusting from PR 0.0. Furthermore Sticks points out, that he finds it more difficult to concentrate 100% on his game/flow live, under certain circumstances. I'd bet his recorded live matches also adds more pressure (money or titles wise) than his average online matches, even though Stick might not state that as a factor to deteriorate his game :-)
SO, is it simply possible, that other giants actually "play to win" when they play online, rather than "practice"? Is it possible some of them only plays "meaningful matches" (eg. for real stakes"?. All-in-all, adding some of the PR-noise that Stick sees when comparing his online to his live play?
I think that might explain some of it.
You could call it PR vs PR :-)
