Short is good

Most of the time it is efficient to make rules concise and steady, while discussions could lead to keeping them short or making them shorter or even more precise. Another aim of rules change could be to standardize rules and to publicize discussions in order to help TD's take similar stands.

About 20 years ago I was playing Jorgen Grandsted in a jackpot in Istanbul. He was not World champion then. I did not know him and I did not know he was handicaped. He had his mobile phone with him on the table. I asked him to remove it because it distracted me and he did it. I won that match and later I felt a kind of guilt - perhaps I had harassed him to lose that match.

I still think it is more important than Bill Davis' dress code to not evoke any doubt with queer movements, personal items etc.

I would rather have an opponent with short pants than one who looks at the ceiling (from time to time) while rolling, or keeps a finger in the cup, or looks inside the cup, or rolls from above his head, or whose cup reaches my chest, etc. Or who wears a KKK head cover, or who listens to music while he plays me. I do not believe a TD when he tells me he prefers MC cups, because they are more silent than deep Svilo cups.

But if the TDs allow or prefer it, that's the way it is. I have the choice to play or not.
