Proposed Short Backgammon Rules

I like your short rules, Keene. However:
If those were the rules and I touched the doubling cube, would I have to double? If the dice fall on the floor, should the clock keep running?
If I move the checkers back and forth and my opponent thinks I put them back to the wrong place, what happens?
If we play to 7 and were supposed to play to 5, what is the ruling?
If I take a 15 minute break during the match, is my opponent a jerk to call the director or was I a jerk and should be penalized for taking that long a break? What if I took a 10 minute break?
If my opponent started the game with 14 checkers, at what point can he put the 15th back on the board and where? If my opponent says that he will drop if I double, and then I double and he changes his mind, can he do that?
If my opponent doesn't shake his dice very much, is that okay? What can I do about it? If the director is called, what should he say if there are no rules to say what is proper?
I could go on for about 10 pages. Sure, it would be wonderful if everyone could just be nice and fair, but we don't know what "fair" is if we don't have rules. And even if we mostly agree on what is fair, what if one tournament director has a different opinion than another?
Your rules will cause more arguments and misunderstandings and resentment than you can imagine. I repeat: short sucks.
