Standard notation for plays

In Response To: Standard notation for plays (Daniel Murphy)

In the Nactation key of my RolloutSummary, I have entered traditional notations for close to 10,000 different checker plays. That experience has led me to have a strong preference for the sort of systematic/"correct" notation that Stick advocates. When I encounter something that strays too far from what XG or GnuBg use, it slows me down.

Of course, even the bots use nonstandard notation at times. In this thread, examples such as 24/20* 20/14 have already been mentioned. Most of us prefer to see that as 24/20*/14. When there is no intervening hit, then 24/14 is best.
