As an afterthought, I tried adding this move to XG using four separate die movements:
24/21 7/4* 7/4 4/1
Without my guidance, XG then collapsed this into:
24/21, 7/4(2)*, 7/1
I don't have XG in front of me, but surely there's a typo here? Did you mean to write 24/21 7/4*(2) 4/1*?
By the way, I notice that your preferred notation is 24/21 7/4* 7/1* and not 24/21 7/1* 7/4*. Tom Keith, elsewhere in this thread, suggests that the "to" points should be listed in ascending order, and so would presumably favor 24/21 7/1* 7/4*. No big deal either way, perhaps, but now let's suppose that there were no blot on the 1pt. Then what? 24/21 7/4* 7/1 looks reasonable, but 24/21 7/1 7/4* looks a little odd to me, because I am inclined to read this from left to right and to make the moves in the order given, and if I'm taking the first checker from the 7pt and moving it to the 1pt then it's a little weird not have an asterisk somewhere in there.
I'm still not in favor of declaring that certain ways of writing a move are "wrong" if they merely violate someone's sense of taste. It's bad enough that so many people have fallen into the habit of using "right" and "wrong" to denote the equilibrium strategy.
