I understand your point but not all players will be of the same opinion, some thinking the proportion should be 33-50% say.

We set an absolute maximum proportion for the PR-based prizes of 50%. The desirable range is 20-33%, which should work fairly well when the range in player strengths is small. Where there is likely to be a large range then a proportion lower than 20% might make sense. Also the scale of the entry fee is a factor. All these factors should be evaluated by local BMS Organisers to guard against loss of market. Maybe the promoters could experiment with different proportion levels to find the optimal local range, or just ask the potential players.
