BMS affiliated bodies are tournament organisers who operate within the framework set by the centralised awards body, BMAB. Besides promoting and managing tournaments they take on full responsibility for the process of match recording by video, transcription to match files, and certifying that rules and guidelines of BMAB, which are designed to provide fairness and transparency.

In the situation you describe, if a respectable Club Director wished to take on the above described role then it would certainly be supported by BMAB. Where an existing BMS body exists it is sensible and desirable for the new Director to join with the existing body in some form of mutually beneficial partnership where resources, knowledge and experiences could be shared.
