I like Joe's response, and sorry if I came off as overly critical. I actually like a lot about what you and the rest of this group has done. Maybe I'll never be a grandmaster, but it seems like there are some lower titles that are attainable for me. That may not mean much within the game, but my mom and dad might think it's cool.

Joe Russell: I think he feels he is a huge underdog in a PR event

I know I'm a huge underdog, and if there are any number of strong players, I literally have zero chance to win a PR event. If I entered a PR event, or put money in a PR side pool, then I'm literally throwing my money away. There is a virtual guarantee of zero return.

A regular tournament does not have this feature. I may be -EV (and these days, I probably am), but I'm not throwing away my entry fee. I've caught my fair share of breaks and won a handful of reasonably big events which made up for the previous few times I zeroed out. Joe is right: I've got a fighting chance in a regular tournament.
