So that's it then? They shook hands on it, so it's done and dusted: it certainly makes life simpler for everyone involved!

So then, are there no hypothetical circumstances where, in the above scenario (of a handshake), you would change the result? What about if it was discovered that the winner had been cheating, perhaps by introducing gaffed dice, using headphones that gave illicit info, or whatever? Especially if the next round had not yet started?

Because, if you would change the result in the above scenarios, you should maybe consider doing so in the one this thread discusses. The player had an obligation to point out that the opponent was making illegal plays, having not pressed his clock to end his turn, yet he didn't. If he truly wasn't aware of the LM rule, then it's ignorance only, but it still seems questionable that he should benefit from it. If, as is likely, he was aware, then could it not be construed to be a form of cheating, or at least equivalent to it?
