I am sure that his intent was fair and that for everybody the rolling on is seen as forgetting to push the clock. However intent and the exact meaning of a rule don't always coincide. Imagine you could go back in time, kill Hitler and thus saving millions of lives, would you be according to the law a murderer or a savier? I know this is a difficult situation to rule on, its a leaphole in the rules and should be judged by the posted rules instead of the intent of the player, no matter how unfair it might seem.
