Backgammon variant with slightly non-random dice

I don't like this idea at all.

Knowing that certain rolls are "out of play" distorts and simplifies the game. For example, in a particular situation I may be concerned about my opponent rolling a joker from the bar, 61 or 52. If one or more of these rolls are already in the discard pile, it makes my decision a lot easier. It may speed up the game; if I need 55 or 66 on my last roll and both those cards are gone, well, it's time to set up for the next game.
