In Response To: Backgammon variant with slightly non-random dice (6stones)

1. if you leave the discarded cards face up, you eliminate one of the skill sets that makes the game more complex, and

2. if you leave the cards face up, can you imagine how much time it will take for people to keep going through them every roll to see how many 6's are gone, or whatever? If you have to keep a running count, you save a lot of time.

In any event, because of the increased complexity of the game, I would think it very important to have a clock on these games....of course, I think a clock should be on every game of backgammon anyway for many reasons already expressed by many.
