Another +1 for the great work that was done with the streaming from NY.

Normally, I don't watch the streams unless someone I know is playing. I figure, if I just want to watch good bg, I might as well watch XG play itself. However, this time it was different.

Granted, one reason was that the names were bigger and the quality of play was way higher than in your average streamed match. But the main reason was the commentary. It was brilliant, and a great job of finding a world class player to comment on most matches (again, I can only speak for the ones I saw) must have been done.

As for things that could get done, if more resources were available, you write that "Matches would be transcribed before the weekend tournament was even over!".

Actually, in the Nordic Open final of 2014, the match was transcribed by Theis (I think, could also have been his twin brother Tue ;)) live, and shown on a big screen (live!) and commented on by Falafel (and partly MCG, I think). In my opinion, this was the ideal situation. But of course it takes a lot of work to be able to do this to all streamed matches in a tournament.

Anyway, here is a link to that match as an example:

I am a little unsure about whether or not the XG feed was visible live on the screen live, but if it wasn't, this would still be my take on the ideal situation :)
