Wow, what was your New Year's resolution, to become a "kinder, gentler" Stick Rice?? Mine was to take back all those snide comments I've made about you over the years. Unfortunately I've never kept a NYr in my life so don't expect to see that change.

I really like what you said about the Int and Beginners. Back when I was a tyro (stop! before you break your resolution) I was so grateful to simply have a question answered by a (pre-Giants list) Giant. You are definitely onto something. Being accepted/welcomed is a huge reason to return. Being rejected just the opposite. There are some (e.g. CJC) who have practiced this for years but most don't, not because of intent but rather lack of even considering the gesture. I hope this sentiment becomes contagious. Some talk about grandiose efforts to bring more into the game. This one might trump all of those, with a fraction of the effort.
