Agree and well said Rich. Anyone claiming this is a blunder is in fact saying that you are underestimating your skill advantage over what I understand is a pretty good player in any case (or don't know what they are talking about).

Doubling is only a mistake if the skill difference is big enough AND your opponent indeed takes, but if your going to take suboptimal play into account, it also becomes more difficult to predict Eli's action. If you assume a 20% chance that he passes, how big should the skill difference be to make this a proper 'no double'? If Eli was flustered, does that mean that he is going to more readily take or drop? I at least don't know, and with so many imponderables I don't belief there is a clear-cut right or wrong action here.

It is a long time ago that I played in tournaments, but I'll take your remarks on the time and dynamics of the match (how strong is your opponent going to play the remainder of the match given past play, and how strong are you going to play yourself - this can indeed differ a lot from normal for some players) with me for future use.

There is something else. In my past experience of a long while back, I found that if I cube after playing on for the gammon, people tend to drop takes. If that is a common mistake as I think it is, cubing again becomes better.
