Rules require interpretation at some point, and then common sense and the intent should prevail.

Here, my position is that the turn ended (several times) although not according to the procedure described in the rules; your position is that because the turn was not ended according to the procedures in the rules, it did not end. I think it is clear how 'everybody' would interpret the situation.

Suppose that a player, at the end of his turn, does not punch his clock but the pause button. Now what? Has his turn ended or not? Can this be corrected? Or do we sit and wait forever? I believe your position would be that his turn has not formally ended. To me, the turn ended and I will just tell him to punch the clock and not the pause button.
