0-ply moves are worse than 2-ply and 3-ply moves, even when their calculated equity is larger. I explain the reason for this slightly counter-intuitive fact at http://www.bgtrain.com/faq (look at the final question).

Yeah, I figured as much. It's just annoying when the analysis is (probably) wrong :).
