That was my point, with the obvious extension that kids can only play with the further approval of the TD.

Parenting is the job of parents, not do-gooders who have nothing to do with the family. The game itself is certainly something that can help kids, not undone by having a small prize. I cannot fathom why anyone who is familiar with backgammon would want to protect children from something that benefits them. Who protects children from those who over-protect them?
