Taper_Mike: I find all your points completely "reasonable", and agree they should be considered before such a sweeping change is made to the rules of backgammon. A big change affecting all players should not be needed primarily to solve a relatively small problem created by only a few players--especially when reasonable compromises, such as the one I suggested earlier in this thread (TDs imposing touch-move on egregious offenders) are easy enough to implement.

The "touch move" chestnut pops every few years, as does the one about eliminating delay that Adam brought up in this thread, so save a copy of your post. It will save you time in a couple of years, because you will be able to copy and paste it instead of having to retype it then!
