In Response To: Director's action? (Chuck Bower)
As a spectator I would speak up here. I realize, that's against the rules, but common sense says that this is in both players interest and if some time passes then fixing the score could become sketchy if significant action has happened and the players might have more difficulty remembering exactly what occured.
The TD should find out if the spectators account is accurate and if so then ask the score to be corrected, and tell the players to keep a written score. I don't know if there's a situation where I wouldn't rule this way, but the more time that has passed and the further the match has progressed before the TD arrives at the scene the more troublesome it can become.
