If you look at the trajectory of Bridge, they did a remarkable job.

Before setting up the USBGF I took a look at tem and at Chess.

Why are they successful? They currently have twice the peak membership of chess and thrice (maybe more now) the current membership. Chess membership has declined from about 80,000 to 40-50,000. (These are numbers off the top of my head from 5 years ago).

Again, US Bridge was/is WILDLY successful.
