I would like you to explore making the board fullly electronic but with hologram checkers and virtual dice that appear to tumble out of the clock-contraption, to maintain the 3-dimensional 'feel' of the game.

Also, I would like each player to be able to choose from a menu of holograms of great backgammon 'Giants' to represent their moves on the table. These "Tiny Giants" would move the checkers around the board when you tap or dictate your wishes, as though shoving a small coffee table across a living room. This would make a nice source of income for the more popular players, who would get a likeness-fee for every game "they" worked. Imagine playing with little Akiko vs Falafel avatars at your beck and call!

There could also be a virtual Official enthroned on a small chair opposite the side where there clock is. Here I think you should get to choose an appropriate movie star. Say, Helen Mirren or Patrick Stewart!
