In Response To: Leave PJT alone (alex lehmann)

  • Alex Lehmann has run bots on GE/P65 for many years.
  • PJT helped develop those bots or whatever they call it, but not for the purpose of running them on a backgammon site
  • PJT receives no compensation for these bots
  • Thus, PJT has no involvement and Sticks accusation is wrong regarding PJT
  • The bots are somewhat weak, playing with an ER of about 5. This means that good players will just about break even against them when factoring in the rake, while recreational players will lose, but not as quickly as against 'pros' who play with ER's between 1 and 5 some of who cheats by checking snowie etc from time to time
  • These weak bots are good for the online game because they are always there giving action and thus stimulating action. This is good for the site and also good for recreational players who lose slower than against better opps.
  • The bots never invite, they just wait. Most people who have half a brain don't invite regulars.
  • Being an online pro is also cheating of some sort because what you are doing is exploiting weaker players who thinks backgammon is mostly luck.
  • Being an online pro is no better/different than running bots. You are just not as good at it as he who runs bots
  • GE/PG65 directly or indirectly tolerated this bot action until recently because the make rake etc.
