As Bill Finneran stated, it was really bye-forfeit-forfeit. There were 43 players who did not cash in the Main or Consolation. In the LC, 21 of those, including Carter, got a first round bye. Carter's opponent did not show up, so Carter got a forfeit. Neither of the players Carter would have played in the second round showed up, So Carter got another forfeit. No shows always happen in fresh draw LC, just not usually bunched like that.
