This is a good solution, in part because it is simple.

If TDs don't want to create the draw sheet on the fly, then another solution is to charge a small entry fee on Saturday for a Sunday LC. The small fee would be added money. In case anyone pays but doesn't show up, that will be a positive for the remaining players instead of a negative. And it would make for a more profitable final.
