Falafel has always had a habit of being the last player to start his match in my experience. He is reluctant to stop his current conversation to start his match, and he has always seemed to me to have the attitude that time restraints do not apply to him. Then he plays pretty slowly when he does play, and coupled with the late start he slows down the tournament. Between matches he requests a break and takes long ones. He should be penalized for this or else everyone else will be. Despite the fact that he is one of the best players in the world, clearly, this lackadaisical attitude and poor attendance were two of the reasons I left him off my Giants of Backgammon ballot for 2013, entirely.
