I think that is a big exaggeration. There is still money at stake, so you try to win. If a really good player tries to get in, his or her normal "try to win against the competition" play would average below 4, so I don't think there would be much of a difference. I interpret the Mochy under 4 club as players who average under 4 in tournament conditions.

That said, I accept that I might be wrong on this - having too little experience.
