Touch Move rule, wording

Without debating the merits of whether backgammon should convert to "touch move" in this thread, what would be a good wording for it?

I'll kick it off by suggesting:

After rolling the dice, a player must move or hit any checker he touches, if it can be done so legally.

If a player releases a checker, that portion of the move (if legal) is considered completed.

If more than one checker is touched or released, the first such checker(s) has priority.

If a player happens to touch two checkers simultaneously on the same point, he is not yet committed to moving more than one of them. Without penalty, a player may adjust pieces by clearly stating his intention to do so. A checker touched incidentally while performing another action (such as moving another checker or picking up cocked dice or removing a foreign object) is irrelevant.

It is considered impolite to move with both hands at the same time, to touch the board surface or wave hands over it unnecessarily, to touch checkers on the opponent's turn, or engage in unsolicited banter or other distractions. Tournament director/staff has discretion to penalize repeated actions of this sort.
