Proposed Ranking System -Update

Rod Covlin is higher ranked than Falafel. What are we to conclude from this ranking?
There is a very clear conclusion one can draw:
(1) Falafel played in too few tournaments lately to have a chance to occupy a top spot in the rankings. Logical and fair.
(2) Rod Covlin enjoyed great success this year at ABT and is thus near the top of the rating. (Notice how getting hot in one given year did not place him at the very top.)
P.S. I just read the proposed master points system in the latest issue of PrimeTime Backgammon. I like the idea of combining Elo-like counting of every match won with ABT-like pressure-rounds performance bonuses. It might just be the best of both worlds: a fusion of pure Elo and pure ABT points systems. But the proposal only mentions points totals. How about using Ken's weighted average proposal as icing on the cake?
