Yes, Steve, thanks for that reminder. So that's a reason for excluding 1- or 2- point quickies. Another reason to exclude side events with matches shorter than those normally found in the "main event" and "Masters" would be a desire for Elo ratings to reflect performance at "tournament-like" match lengths, i.e., 9 to 17 points (rarely less, and rarely more, even in Europe) with an exception for matches as short as 5, as in a last chance flight, in an event which otherwise qualifies for rating.
