Tennis is completely different as bg, because in tennis a high percentage of players (just for not saying almost all players) cover their costs of entering a tournament because of sponsors or organization, they can loose in 1st round and still make a good profit from the tournament. In BG everybody (or 99%) pays their registration fees, accomodation, flight tickets,food,etc- Of course, as Neil wrote below,seeding could be accepted if organization or sponsors cover some players costs.
