I do agree that there should be major changes to improve the game. Television is a very powerful medium as we all know.The idea I have although I do not have the necessary contacts as I once had when I knew several people in Television in the 60s who have since passed away.But anyway the idea I have is to have a Television cable access channel in which there would be everything about Backgammon with a host who would start from the beginning with tutorials for beginners and extend onto more advanced lessons.It would be a fun thing showing actual games with commentary about each move. After that then perhaps actual tournaments being streamed onto the cable access channel again with commentary about the players and continuous commentary during the match.I do not know how this could be started but perhaps a few cable companies could be contacted to find out how it could be developed with the cost.It could be on weekly,daily or whatever with a host first of all going into the many aspects of the game.I am sure it could be video taped from a location and then played back on the channel so a studio would not have to be rented.I offer the idea but I am not a salesman to pitch the idea to a cable company.But I perhaps could help some other way.It would take an expert salesman from the Backgammon community to pitch it to a rep from a cable company.All programs could be taped with players and others in Backgammon and then played back.The cost factor again is something that could be found out but as I said no studio would have to be rented. Anyway this is my idea.Thank you all for reading it.
