Who woulda thunk -- a reference to WvB in BG Online: "Wernher Von Braun was a hero because of the overall picture of his life and its trajectory and accomplishments, despite the remaining controversy about his role in the use of slave labor in the Mittelwerk."
A hero to some, no doubt. But not, presumably, to the slave laborers; nor, as Tom Lehrer put it, to the "orphans and widows in old London town -- they all owe their pensions to Werner von Braun."
Another immortal Lehrer verse: "Once the rockets go up, who cares where they come down? That's not my department," says Werner von Braun.
And finally, let's not forget his book; "I Aim for the Stars (but sometimes I hit London)"
