I think Tim is right to think such a thought. A faster delay, in particular, means that a player who shakes the dice properly and then rolls them a decent distance rather than just wiggling and plopping them, will be at a noticeable disadvantage compared to someone who minimizes the time spent on rolling the dice by cutting corners. The current 12-second delay is adequate for most people to roll properly and still avoid eating into their reserve on a routine play, but 10 seconds would be too little for too many.

If you want to play with tighter controls, play the Faster Masters events, but quit pinching and poking the internationally accepted 12/2 controls for normal Open and Masters events. Isn't it good that clocks have gained such wide acceptance now? Let's not muddy the waters, or worse, risk sinking the ship.
