But you're comparing apples and oranges.

Maybe someone goofs off and doesn't try at an ABT event. But that's not that likely. Possible, but not likely.

Rich and I had motivations other than winning when we played our opponents. Winning wasn't our main motivation. We were motivated when we played each other for the ladder, which would be akin to the ranking system being put in effect here.
