Ruling

Depends on how you see it, Tim. I'm more persuaded by the usual meaning of "take it" (rarely is meant "I take it") than by an argument that "take it" in a backgammon game must mean "I take" (which it doesn't, imo) because "take" means "I take" (true), or that "call it" (in a poker game) in response to a bet probably means "I call" (which I'd agree it does). Unlike "take it," an imperative "call it" is rather rare, isn't? Besides "call it in the air"? As an argument from or to poker and backgammon, the analogy isn't very good. It's good of you to spot that.
